Jessen

Jessen is the second largest town of Sachsen-Anhalt and is situated in the German state triangle Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt, and Brandenburg. Because of the mild climate you will find there the northernmost wine plantation of Germany whose history reaches back into the 13th century. Beside of the vineyards there are also fruit plantations in Jessen where peaches, cherries, apples, and strawberries grow.

Jessen's wine and its champagne, as well as the fruits, are available in the Hotel Schwarzenbach. 
 

The wonderful Elb-landscape between Elbe and Schwarzer Elster is something special, too. Parts of it are a nature preserve. Next to White- and Blackstorks, Grayherons and Fisheagles there also live about 140 of the endangered beavers. Various bicycle- and walking tours outside of the nature preserve invite to exploration and observation.
 

You can either rent a bicycle at the local bicycle rent service to explore the nature but you also have the possibility to ride a horse. At the horse rent service also rider lessons can be taken.

Further spare time offers are a tenniscourt, bowling lane, fitness-center, experience swimming baths with shuttle service, a lake where you can go canoeing and much more.
